Softball, Soccer, & Basketball

Campers who participate in team sports such as softball, soccer, and basketball have the opportunity to enhance their playing skills, learning from experienced coaches. Though competitions are held both within Camp Maplehurst and with nearby camps, counselors stress enjoyment of the game and teamwork--not just winning.

 

Mountain Biking

Camp Maplehurst's rolling meadows, orchards and forest trails are the ideal environment for the beginning or experienced mountain biker. Bring your own bike or try out one of our brand new Specialized Hot Rock bikes. Beginners will enjoy instruction on gentle, rolling trails while more experienced bikers can put their skills to the test on more extreme terrain both within camp and on nearby trails.

Volleyball

Volleyball is both a fun game and a great team-building exercise. Campers and counselors alike enjoy playing against each other and other camps.

Tennis

Two hard tennis courts are available for camper use at Camp Maplehurst. Expert instruction is given daily and courts can be used during campers' free time. Tennis tournaments and competition with other camps are frequently scheduled.

Archery

Camp Maplehurst's archery program includes instruction in bow and arrow skills. Campers enjoy shooting at our own range for leisure and competition.

Golf

Golf is a very popular activity at Camp Maplehurst. Daily instruction is given on our driving range where campers practice for frequent trips to nearby golf courses and driving ranges.

Gymnastics

The gymnastics program at Camp Maplehurst provides qualified instruction in a variety of techniques including balance beam and tumbling.

Horseback Riding

Horseriding at Camp Maplehurst is a popular activity and takes place off camp with professional instructors at Ranch Rudolph. Riding takes place within miles of trails and teaching is provided within an outdoor enclosure.

Tetherball

Tetherball is a favorite free time activity for campers, with courts located throughout camp.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced game played with a frisbee that brings together elements from football, soccer and basketball. It is popular both as an organized activity and in pick-up games during free times.
